Marrone Produce was established in 1993 by Tony and Maxine Marrone after a long association with horticulture. The company specialises in boutique lines that blend traditional cooking values with modern restaurant demand. The company has a number of farm supply chain agreements covering the Adelaide Plains, the South East of the state, the Adelaide Hills and the Riverland of South Australia. The diversity of supply sources is part of the company’s strategic plan to reduce risk due to local issues such as flooding, pest incidence and water restrictions. The modern temperature controlled and quality accredited packing facility is based at Burton, South Australia, close to the major growing area of Virginia, the Adelaide Produce Market and transport routes. Recent expansion has seen the installation of an innovative washing, brushing and polishing line at a purpose build plant at Carclew, east of Virginia. Divine Produce was established to complement the washing and packing operations of Marrone Produce by the contract packing of retail specialist lines such as soup combos.
